Pitch Lab

Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

This policy explains what the Pitch Lab apps for iPhone and Android (“Pitch Lab”, “we”) collect, why, and the choices you have. Pitch Lab is made by Mind Zone. Questions: support@mind-zone.net.

In short: no account needed, your progress stays on your phone, ads are only personalised if you agree, and you can delete everything from the app.

On your device

Your profile (a display name you choose or that the app suggests, an avatar colour, XP, badges, match history and settings) is stored only on your phone. You can delete it at any time in Settings › Delete my data.

Online play

Only when you choose to play online, the app sends the following to the Pitch Lab server at pitch-lab.games.mind-zone.net:

We use this to run matches fairly (moves are checked against the game rules), show leaderboards and prevent abuse. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse and is not stored with your profile. Display names that several players report are hidden until reviewed.

Nearby play

Nearby matches connect directly to the other phone on your Wi-Fi network. Nothing is sent to our server. Your phone asks for permission to use the local network the first time.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details. To confirm a purchase and restore it on a new install, the app sends the purchase’s transaction identifier to our server, which checks it with Apple or Google.

Usage data (optional)

Off unless you turn on Settings › Share anonymous usage data. When on, the app records coarse events such as “match finished: game, mode, result” and “tutorial completed”. They contain no name, no device identifier and no free text. Crash reports are kept on your phone.

Advertising

Pitch Lab shows no ads during your first three weeks and never during play. After that, an occasional ad may appear after a finished match, and you can choose to watch a short video for bonus XP. Buying “Ad-free” removes the ads after matches.

Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested, Google receives information such as your device’s advertising identifier (on Android), IP address, device type and app information, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks for your choices the first time an ad could be shown; you can change them later in Settings › Ad privacy choices. Elsewhere the app asks whether ads may be personalised; if you say no, Google shows non-personalised ads.

On iPhone, Pitch Lab does not ask to track you and does not use the advertising identifier. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the system settings.

Service providers

Google (AdMob ads and the consent form), Apple and Google (purchases). Online play runs on our own server; no other company receives your game data.

What we don’t do

Keeping and deleting data

Settings › Delete my data removes everything on your phone and deletes your online account: ratings, friends, blocks, reports you made and purchase records are erased, and past matches show you as “Deleted player”. Without deletion, online data is kept while you use online play. Deleted data can remain in server backups for a short time until those backups are replaced.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your online data, its correction or deletion by e-mailing support@mind-zone.net with your player name. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR) you may also object to processing or complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Pitch Lab is suitable for all ages and has no chat. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above; parents can delete a child’s data from Settings or by contacting us.

Security

Online traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Access keys are stored only in hashed form on the server.

Changes

We will update this page when the policy changes and show the date at the top. Important changes are announced in the app.
